just to let you know..

I haven't died (yet). just very busy! three clients shoots I've had to edit, 1 and a half complete - just trying to get everything in whilst also trying to rest a bit!

I have a new university module coming up (fantasy photography) which I get the brief for tomorrow, I am excited to do this project as obviously it's something I'm interested in. I'll keep you posted, I have SO many pictures and ideas I want to share!

Book Cover Features & tattoo!

I haven't posted about my features in a long time, so I feel it's only fair to let you know now!

Headline Publishing licensed one of my photographs for the new Raffaella Barker book 'Poppyland'. It is released in June this year and will be available in all major book stores (it is available for pre-order on amazon now)

I was commissioned by Kelli Ali (http://www.kelliali.com/) to do a photoshoot - details cannot be mentioned now but all will come in good time!

In the mean time, here's a lovely new picture of my new tattoo. I've been planning one for ages and finally got it done by Matt (Modern Body Art in Birmingham). it's incredibly sore and did hurt but it was worth it!

finally finally...

got my university module work done and dusted.
It's actually physically exhausting, I havent even been able to sit down the past two weeks.

I have a few days off next week before assessment so I'm trying to get my clients work done from two weeks ago, i also have a client shoot and i did a week ago PLUS a shoot this week so I've really got to get my business work back on track!

then i have the start of my last 8 week modules before I finish for this year! ughhhhhh.. i can't wait until i can start shooting again and actually resting for a bit!

Snow!

I woke up Sunday morning to find - SNOW!

It's funny, the night before my friend Andrew from Canada was talking to me via MSN and telling me about how he wishes it didn't snow as much over there and I told him to send it over here! Looks like he did!

Unfortunately that day, we had an "arranged" power cut, so we had NO electricity access in the house whatsoever, the company did this two weeks ago too! So again the trip to my mum's house was on schedule (packing the frozen things, making sure there was something over the fish tank to stop the tank getting to cold, packing my university supplies because I needed to get some sketchbook work done). This is the second time & hopefully the last, because I am NOT going through this hassle again!

Well, Ant went to his mum's in the car and my mum picked me up and we went to hers. When we arrived my dad and my sister were getting ready to go out on her little sledge on some hills in the town. I knew I had to get my university work done but it would have been a shame to miss her first little 'snow experience' so I went along..

here's my sister and my dad going down the hill (pushed by my mum)! (I secretly think they enjoyed it more than she did)

..and when we let her out she didn't want to go back in! (she was more interested in throwing snowballs at my mum, dad or me whilst coming down on her sledge..

and my mum is going to kill me for this one but mwahahah, this is her going the wrong way down -

All these were taken on my Sony Cybershot point and shoot, I didn't get time to get any good videos of the day as my battery had completely gone. It saves me carrying my brick of a Canon around with me though!

I've got some blog posts to do when I have time. Today is one of my last days to complete my university work so I'd better get doing it!

Me? Drawing & Painting? Never!

here are some of my experiments for my uni module 'Mark Making'

I'm so behind on uni work and it's got to be handed in next week, so I'm finally getting things done and to be honest, I actually enjoyed making these! I haven't painted/drawn in a very long time.

These believe or not, were made with just some old make-up I found in an old cheap make-up box. I don't own paint or acrylics (haha i'm an art student too) so mascara, good old lipstick and foundation will do the trick for now!

Oh and please ignore my foot!

My last clients (earlier this week) were two lovely DJ's. Sophie Sugar and DJ Miss Behavin, they were so great to work with, I'll be posting a few pictures here when I've finally edited them all.

This my cat Vinnie (Vincent) - we got him a few weeks ago and he is already attached at the hip! he follows me everywhere, such a fussy thing!

Firedancing, bodypainting & photography..

Firedancing, bodypainting & photography.. is probably three most challenging & risky talents to put together in a photoshoot! Especially when the weather is miserable and could rain any minute and you're shooting in buildings where fire alarms are (and in fact, the fire alarms did go off, resulting in the most embaressing situation where you want the ground to swallow you up)

It was a fantastic experience, partly because I've never shot anything like this before OR worked with a great bodypainter. I don't usually work with make up artists/stylists etc because I usually do it myself but it's something I am going to start doing from now on.

Here's a few shots from the day..

and why the hell do dogs always find photoshoots fascanating - we must have had about 10434773 dogs follow us on this shoot! (just thought this was funny)
